We tried to convince Gavin to let his hair grow long enough to donate, but he didn't want to look like a girl! =]! Mitch and I keep trying to get Gavin to buzz his hair like Daddy, but he is not into that either. Daddy took him for a hair cut and here are the before and afters....

Georgia's New Do....
Ever since our friend Isabel got her hair cut short (last year sometime), Georgia has been wanting to join the club. I love her long hair and didn't want to cut it, because I new it would make her look so grown up. So I talked to Georgia about her and I letting our hair grow long enough until we had enough to cut and donate to "Locks of Love" or "Pantene Beautiful Lengths". We needed 8 inches for Pantene and 10 inches for Locks of Love. For the last 3 months every time Georgia has her hair trimmed she asks if it is long enough to donate. I held her off as long as I could and yesterday was the day. We cut off 9 inches! Georgia was very proud and was telling everyone that she was growing her hair "to give to someone who doesn't have any hair". I wish I could bottle the excitement she had for her new do - she is just beaming!! I must say, she does look fabulous!! But where did my baby go? She looks like such a big girl now. When Georgia grows up....
She has been saying that she wants to be a "baby doctor". This week at school, she got to dress up in what she wants to be when she grows up. A big THANK YOU to Nicholas and Andrew for loaning us the outfit and doctor bag. Here are the pictures:

JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes!
First I want to say THANK YOU, to everyone who supported us! We raised $395. Gavin, Georgia, and I were very excited to watch the donation thermometer raise with all of the donations! The team that I was on had a team goal of $3000. To date the team has raised $3,598. We have until April 1st so that number could raise! AMAZING!!
What a fabulous day we had. The festivites for the walk started at 8am. We left our house at 7.15 to meet our friends and teammates. The walk was being held downtown Des Moines, in the Skywalk system that connects all the downtown buildings. I was excited to see this part of Des Moines, because I have driven under them and walked in a small stretch of the skywalk, but I had never explored them all. We had breakfast, the kids got their face painted, tattoos, hair painted, and jumped in some bounce houses. After our team picture we were off!! It was a 2 mile walk in the skywalk system (that was just one lap)...it was cool!!
The walk had over 8000 participants and raised over $1.5 million. This year we joined the team "Rebecca's Rock Stars". Rebecca is an 8 year old who was diagnosed with the disease at the age of 6. The Wittmer's are friends with Rebecca and her family. Next year, Andrew will have his own team. Who is in for next year??

Gavin turns 6!!
It seems like yesterday and we went on a Whitewater Rafting trip to celebrate Trevor's 30th birthday. Came home from that trip and took the test! It seemed so surreal to say that I was pregnant! There was so many unknowns the first time around. Gavin (and Georgia) has been a wonderful blessing in my life. I can't believe that my baby is 6!! He is in Kindergarten, learning to read & write, learning math...he loves all the new stuff he is experiencing. I LOVE watching him grow. I love watching him experience things for the first time!! I love watching him build friendships that will last a lifetime!!
For his 6th birthday we celebrated it with having our close friends, the Blaskovich's and the Wittmer's over for dinner. Then Isabel, Sean, and Nicholas spent the night. Here are some pictures....
