On November 22nd we loaded the car with us, kids, dogs, and suitcases and headed out for a 26 hour drive to California (a drive we do in 2 days). We were going to surprise my Grandma and have 90th birthday party for her. We also got to spend the Thanksgiving Holiday with my mom's side of the family. Something that we haven't done in 3 years, so it was very special to me.
My Grandma didn't know we were coming...we arrived at my dad's and my Grandma was there visiting, we sent the kids in to say "we're here". My Grandma was so excited!! The next surprise for her was My Mom and Ken's arrival. She didn't know about the party that we had planned for her. We told her we were just going to get together to see some family while we were visiting and we were going to celebrate her birthday early (her actual birthday is December 9th.). It was so nice to be there and celebrate her. She is an amazing woman!!
We returned to Iowa on December 1st.
